Operation Disney - Day 3

Today I woke up in a much better mood. Sleep was better; I only woke up twice and that was to remove a furry black cat from my face. I think the broken blind is what was bothering me the last couple of nights so I’m glad I got tired of waiting for the maintenance man and figured out a way to fix it myself.

I finished my edits for Deceptions. The final draft is due next week so I’ll have to put in time rereading the draft aloud to pick up any typos and such so more time sitting at my desk. I’ll set my phone alarm to go off every hour to remind me to get up and move. My new shoes came today (Bootsie has already played with them. I don’t know why.) so I’m hoping that helps the pain in my feet. I should give my feet a break as far as hurting. I’ve broken both of them after all and have screws in them.

Not much movement today. After finishing the edits this morning, I hunkered down and finished watching Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Now that I’m done with that, I’m hoping to not be so sedentary (other than looking for typos). I haven’t really had a proper meal since starting Operation Disney and my cupboards are rather boring so I took a chance to see if Tony’s Pizza delivered. I didn’t want pizza. I’ve had a craving for spaghetti and since I don’t use my stove, it was either go to the store to get frozen spaghetti (which would have required me to put a bra on) or see if Tony’s delivered. They did! And it was a proper meal with a small salad, an appropriate sized portion of spaghetti with meatballs, and two pieces of garlic bread. It was very good but filling. That’s good as that means my stomach is shrinking back down to a normal size. I really need to remember that the stomach is the size of a fist and although it can stretch, I need to try and not stretch mine. In other words, not eat so much.

I haven’t decided yet which is the hardest part of Operation Disney is yet. I’ve put a little money in my Disney Vacation Account so that’s a start and I have the first two days planned. I think it’s a tie between moving and eating. It’s only day 4 so I shouldn’t be too hard on myself but the trip really hinges on those two things. The last thing I want to do is spend a couple thousand on a vacation to only hide in my hotel room or just sit on a bench. I want, need, to make this count.

On a funny note, I received a rejection from an agent this morning for Deceptions. This was from a query I sent way back in February. I primly responded to the agent that it was okay they were rejecting me because my book is being published on 7/21. Then this afternoon I received an email from an agent that wanted to read the first fifty pages of Deceptions. Too late again. That was from another February query. I really wish these agents would look at their queries in a more timely matter. I know they receive hundreds of queries a month but still, I really want an agent and how do I know that this could have been the one? Anyway, who cares? My second book will be published seven weeks from tomorrow!

At least with this contract, I’ll be able to do a book signing at Barnes and Noble so I expect to see everyone there when it happens!
