Day 10 - Weeds

I have to apologize for my short blog yesterday. I was feeling off-kilter because of the protein bar problem. When I started this blog I wanted to be open about what I was doing and feeling while I worked on losing weight. I’ll try and not hold back in the future.

So, today. I went grocery shopping this morning for a few things. Seems I can’t run out of everything at the same time. I needed lettuce and dressing and a few other things. I think it took me longer to figure out which store to go to than to actually do my shopping. I ended up at Walmart because I would need to do more walking there than Fareway or Hy-Vee. I missed drinking orange juice so I splurged on a small container. It tasted so good even though it raised my blood sugar pretty high. It was worth it, though.

My breakfast dilemma has been solved. I’ll have vanilla Greek yogurt, a banana, a Morningstar Farms sausage patty, and… and… a Skinny Cow mocha latte. I miss my coffee but I figure since this is in an individual container and only has 120 calories, it would be okay. They taste pretty good, a little rich but good.

Lunch was my usual salad. Now, let’s talk about greens. I’m not too picky as long as it’s not all spinach or has a lot of radicchio in it. Last week I picked up two containers of Dole’s spring mix which consists of what I refer to as weeds (see picture). It’s not a bad blend; I had no problem with the first container but it was difficult to get through the second container. It just tasted more… woodsy. So I went with plain romaine. No stems, no taste of the forest.

Dinner was green beans and a Lean Cuisine. I only did five minutes on the mini-cycle today and that was forcing myself. I have located the Nike shoes I want in town and as soon as I get them, I’ll get to walking.

Dana :)
